Philippians 3:20,21 “Who shall change our lowly body”
Computers, autos, the roof on the house, lights all wear out and have to be replaced. Most of these things end up in the junk yard and garbage dump. The believer will never have such an end because of the promise of the transformation, the resurrection of our worn out bodies. This was made possible because of the Lord’s death, burial, resurrection and ascension.
Some people resist change. However, there is one change that every believer will fully and completely desire, the transformation of our decaying, mortal body to an immortal body. This is the promise given to every believer because of our Lord’s resurrection. We have this promise found in Philippians 3:20,21 “The Lord Jesus Christ who shall change our lowly body that it may be fashioned like his glorious body.” What an incredible promise! The future tense here is a predictive future; it denotes a future event, the Rapture of the Church, the moment when all of us receive exactly the same type of resurrected body, minus the old sin nature. We call it ultimate sanctification. We have great news to share to the world because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
